Plumbing report for your insurer
After water damage an insurer almost always asks the same thing: where did the water come from, and what failed? Answering in writing, with dated photos, avoids the back-and-forth that holds up a file.
This report is a plumber’s finding. It describes what was observed on the installation: the point of origin, the component or section at fault, the condition of what surrounds it, and the corrective work recommended.
It does not price the damage to the building and takes no position on coverage: both belong to the loss adjuster your insurer appoints, a regulated profession in Québec. Our part is the plumbing, documented so the adjuster can rely on it.
Does this sound familiar?
- An insurer asking for the exact cause before opening the file
- Water damage whose origin is disputed or unclear
- A sewer backup whose source must be established
- A water heater, hose or fitting that gave way
- Damage at a neighbour’s or in a rental unit
- A claim refused for lack of technical documentation
How we work
We establish the origin
Tracing where the water started, not merely where it appeared — the two are often far apart. Camera inspection where the drain is involved.
We document on site
Dated photos of the component at fault, its condition and its immediate surroundings, while the situation is still visible.
We write the finding
A written document: what was observed, what failed, what explains it and what must be corrected. In plain language, not jargon.
We hand it to you
You pass it to your insurer. If they have technical questions about the plumbing, we answer them.
